The EU assesses the full picture of Russia's use of an intercontinental ballistic missile in Ukraine.
This was stated by the speaker of the European Commission Peter Stano during a briefing in Brussels.
— Obviously, such attacks would mean another clear escalation on the part of Putin. And over the past period, we have actually felt no shortage of signs of further escalation of the conflict on the part of Putin, — he said.
Stano noted that the attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure are not a sign that the Kremlin dictator is seeking de-escalation.
Now watching
— Putin is once again playing the nuclear gamble with Russia's recently updated nuclear doctrine, he has brought North Korean soldiers onto European soil, so these are all clear signs of a desire for escalation, rather than a genuine search for paths to peace, — he emphasized.
Intercontinental ballistic missile strike on Ukraine
Peter Stano noted that if the information about the use of an intercontinental ballistic missile by the Russian Federation is confirmed, “this will be another quantitative and qualitative change in this approach and a clear sign of escalation”.
Recall that on November 21, the Russian Federation launched a strike with a new high-speed intercontinental ballistic missile on the Dnieper. To which President Volodymyr Zelensky responded, noting that with such actions, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin was using Ukraine as a testing ground.
