Putin needs negotiations for only one thing, and it is not a ceasefire Melania Golembyovskaya

Vladimir Putin does not want to talk to either Vladimir Zelensky or the leaders of European countries. He only needs the future US President Donald Trump to make his “dream” come true.

Former KGB officer Sergei Zhirnov told Channel 24 that Putin does not need any agreements, only an increase in his status. Meanwhile, for our country, there is only one option for effective negotiations.

Why the Russian dictator needs negotiations

The former KGB officer noted that Putin does not need negotiations in order to actually agree on something and cease fire. He wants to repeat the scenario of Kim Jong-un, who at one time showed his population how “cool” he is.

Putin needs negotiations to raise his status. He wants to show that the president of the largest country in the world (Trump – Channel 24) is ready to sit down with him at the negotiating table, he emphasized.

Moreover, the Russian dictator does not want to talk to the president of Ukraine, because he does not consider him a legitimate leader. The Russian dictator does not think that there is anyone in our country with whom one could negotiate. Putin does not want to have dialogues even with European leaders.

At the same time, if Trump is the first to sit down to talk with the Russian dictator, he will lose, and Putin will win.

Trump cannot sit at such a negotiating table. He must ensure that Zelensky and Putin sit down at the negotiating table, and he would watch from the sidelines and ensure that the negotiations take place under normal conditions,” Zhirnov noted.

Please note! In 2022, Ukraine officially decided that it would not hold direct negotiations with Putin cannot be. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga confirmed that this decision is still in effect.

The former KGB officer explained that all these factors create a real negotiating puzzle. The best correct option would be when Zelensky and Trump first hold a dialogue.

By the way, political scientist, executive director of the International Association of Small Communities Alexey Buryachenko expressed the opinion that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia can be held through intermediaries. Meanwhile, for direct negotiations, our country must have a strong position, which only our partners can provide.
