Political scientist from Germany Igor Eidman noted that the conviction that it is imperative to capture something for a certain holiday is reflection of the Soviet paradigm in the worldview of Russians. According to the political scientist, in the USSR it was always very important to report or achieve any success before a certain date.
This is also typical for the Russian dictator. However, so far this has not led to any positive result for him, and the reason for this, in particular, is haste.
“I hope that if Putin now follows the Soviet tradition and tries something on February 24, do something like that, it will be a gamble and it will not lead to anything good for the Russian army,” Eidman said.
