This week in Davos, the 54th annual World Economic Forum brought together world leaders, CEOs, academics, activists and a sizable number of journalists. There one could hear conversations on various topics. Among them — wars ongoing in Europe and the Middle East.
What foreign journalists write about the results of the World Economic Forum in Davos — further in the material Facts ICTV.
Reminder of what's at stake
The wars in Ukraine and Israel attracted special attention at the World Economic Forum in Davos, despite the fact that previously only financial issues were discussed there.

For Ukraine, the current meeting was needed not only to strengthen international support against the background of a full-scale Russian invasion, but also to remind the world what is at stake if this support weakens, writes the American magazine Time.

— If anyone thinks that this is only about us, this is only about Ukraine, then they are fundamentally mistaken. Possible directions and even time frames for new Russian aggression beyond Ukraine are becoming more and more obvious, — Zelensky said in an address to those present at the forum.
Ukraine finds it more difficult to maintain the spotlight
Unlike last year, during which world leaders repeated promises to support Ukraine for as long as it takes, it is now becoming more difficult to maintain the same focus, Time journalists say.
In particular, the prospect of obtaining financial support from the United States (where $61 billion in additional military aid remains pending in Congress) and the European Union (where a $54 billion package is being delayed by Hungary) is still unclear.
— Last year was still a heyday for Ukraine. They had great support. Now the situation is more dispersed and segmented. Last year there was perhaps more unity between the participants than this year. Partially because of Gaza, but the international system is truly torn apart, — said Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of the global movement Amnesty International.
What is the weakness of the West
In an address to the World Economic Forum, President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the clear weakness of the West is that the Russian nuclear industry is still not under global sanctions, although dictator Vladimir Putin — the only terrorist to seize a nuclear power plant.

— There must be a strong decision this year, when frozen Russian assets, sovereign and oligarchic, will be used to protect against war and restore Ukraine. Putin loves money most of all. The more billions he and his oligarchs, friends and accomplices lose, the more likely he is to regret starting this war, — says the head of state.
Zelensky is convinced that Putin should regret and lose. Ukraine is seeking to finally dispel the idea that global unity is weaker than the hatred of one person. Ukrainians can do this, the president emphasized.
