Putin looks at the world's reaction, which is insufficient: Zelensky on DPRK troops in Kursk

The world has not responded sufficiently to the movement of North Korean soldiers into Russian territory near the borders of Ukraine.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference following his participation in the summit of the European Political Community, which took place in Budapest.

How many DPRK troops are there near the Ukrainian border

— 11 thousand North Korean soldiers are present on the territory of the Russian Federation in the border area with Ukraine, namely in the Kursk region. Some of these troops have already participated in hostilities against the Ukrainian military. Yes, there are already losses. This is a fact, — said Vladimir Zelensky.

According to him, the countries of the world reacted differently to the movement of troops from North Korea to the borders of Ukraine.

— I think to answer this question differently. There are countries that reacted loudly. There are countries that did not react. There are countries that reacted, but quietly. We are working with them. I believe there are two things that will determine whether this is enough, he explained.

One of them, he said, is a new wave of escalation on the Russian side, specifically, drawing its army or another state into a full-scale war against Ukraine.

— Many leaders have said that if there is a new wave of escalation, we in Ukraine will be able to open up the possibility of long-range use. I believe this is exactly the moment to do this, — the president is convinced.

Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the next step could be a much greater involvement of the North Korean military, if there is no use of appropriate weapons and political pressure on Russia.

— Putin always looks at the world's reaction. I believe that today it is not sufficient, — the Ukrainian president summed up.
