Putin is trying to use Hamas to weaken support for Ukraine – Blinken

by alex

Kremlin head Vladimir Putin is trying to use the conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas to reduce Western support for Ukraine.

This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during testimony before the US Senate Appropriations Committee.

“Putin is trying very hard to take advantage of the Hamas attack on Israel in the hope that it will distract us… and that it will lead to the United States withdrawing its resources,” he said.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who also attended the hearing, said that Putin will succeed in seizing Ukrainian territories if US aid to Ukraine is stopped.

Let us remind you that today Antony Blinken and Lloyd Austin tried to assure legislators of the US Congress that assistance to Ukraine should not stop.

They assured congressmen of the need to agree to approve US President Joe Biden's previously announced request for more than $105 billion in aid, including $61.4 billion in aid to Ukraine and $14.3 billion in aid to Israel. On the part of the White House, the initiative was proposed in such a way that it would be voted on in one package in Congress.

At the same time, the recently appointed Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, advocates that assistance to Ukraine should be considered separately from funds for Israel.
