Putin is trying to scare Trump: Grozev explained the dictator's plan regarding the war in Ukraine Angela Figin

Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he is ready, willing and able to quickly end the war in Ukraine. However, he confidently made such statements before he won the presidential election, and then admitted that it would not be possible to do this in 24 hours.

The newly elected US president has probably already seen that it will not be easy to reach an agreement with Vladimir Putin, since he demonstratively rejects any proposals. Investigative journalist for the publication “Bellingcat” Christo Grozev explained to Channel 24 what the Russian dictator is trying to achieve.

What new condition can Putin put forward to Trump

One of the conditions that Trump will offer Putin to freeze the war is a long-term delay in Ukraine joining the Alliance. However, during one of his speeches, Putin recently said that Russia will not allow Kyiv to join NATO in 5 or 20 years.

However, the investigative journalist noted that one should not believe everything the Russian president says. After all, such statements by the head of the Kremlin may simply be raising the stakes in the upcoming negotiations with Trump.

Putin knows that there will be an ultimatum from the White House, so he is now trying to scare Trump so as not to include the condition of Ukraine joining NATO. However, this is unlikely to be Moscow's final position, Grozev said.

According to the investigative journalist's sources, Ukraine's accession to the Alliance would be acceptable to the Kremlin, but under certain conditions, which, for example, exclude the deployment of American troops not only on Ukrainian territory, but also on the territory of Eastern Europe.

This is all possible. However, if Trump were the only person making decisions, then I could assume such a conspiracy. The team that the new US president is assembling is made up of people with extensive experience and an understanding of the Russian threat. Therefore, I do not think that they are so naive as to accept such an “alternative” proposal, – added the investigative journalist.

By the way, the president of the Ronald Reagan Republican Club Boris Pincus believes that Trump will not agree to Putin's conditions, because this would be a complete admission of his defeat, as well as the defeat of the United States and the West in general.
