For several months there have been rumors that Russia is planning to announce mobilization, but the path has not yet decided on this. Experts say that the head of the Kremlin cannot simply end the war, so mobilization should not be ruled out.

Russian opposition journalist Igor Yakovenko told Channel 24 about this. He stressed that Putin can only announce mobilization by his own order, without a meeting of the State Duma.

According to him, Putin's mobilization is very necessary , but he needs a certain status of mobilization. For example, to make refusal to mobilize a criminal punishment.

Now Putin is in big trouble – that many servicemen refuse to go to the front. So, 500 people in the Krasnodar Territory refused, 200 people in Buryatia, etc. And this is a problem,” Yakovenko said.

The opposition journalist noted that in order to create criminal liability for refusing to go to die in Ukraine, some other regimes are needed.

“Perhaps it will be martial law or even a declaration of war. It is impossible to completely exclude this version,” he explained.

The journalist added that in order to declare war, a law is needed. And there is a possibility that the State Duma is now being assembled precisely for this purpose.

Is the refusal of people to mobilize already the beginning of a “turning point” in the war? To this, Yakovenko replied that these were only the first signs, these were only hundreds of people.

When it comes to thousands, the war is over. But in principle, Putin has the resources here – the “detachment”, consisting of Kadyrov's men, – said the expert.

In his opinion, Putin will not stop the war. “Putin, who will stop the war, is a dead path. He drove himself into such a situation,” he added.

By the way, earlier Ukrainian intelligence informed that recruitment to private military companies has become more active in Russia. In PIK, Russia began to recruit even convicts directly from places of deprivation of liberty in order to subsequently send them to Donbass.

However, against the backdrop of losses in the war with Ukraine, the Russian military refuse to fight and want to leave the army en masse. the occupiers are already rioting and do not want to follow orders.
