Russian leader Vladimir Putin is currently playing for broke, that is, he is risking everything. In a state of euphoria, he can make many wrong decisions.

This is what Ukraine is counting on. As Viktor Shlynchak, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of World Politics, explained to Channel 24, Russia has driven itself into a dead end. It is difficult to imagine how it will get out of it.

What dilemma does Putin face

Viktor Shlynchak believes that Putin is going for broke now. He is in a state of euphoria, so he can make a lot of mistakes, which is what Ukraine is counting on.

On the one hand, his speechwriters say that we need to proceed from current realities. But they provide for Ukraine to hold a demilitarized line in the Kursk region.

This, in turn, means that some statements, in particular those of Russian speakers, can be interpreted in two ways. Therefore, Putin will rush, pushing his troops to liberate the Kursk region as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, the head of the Kremlin is trying to seize as much territory as possible and reach lines that will be beneficial to him.

Let's look at the Russian constitution. They trapped themselves when they completely included the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions in the constitution. How they will get out of this, only God knows, – noted the chairman of the board of the Institute of World Politics.

On the sidelines of the G20 summit, there is an opportunity to negotiate and also to transmit signals. And not only to Russia through Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, but also to discuss the situation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and other leaders who will represent the Global South.

What is interesting is that Putin will make a fatal mistake if he starts putting pressure on US President-elect Donald Trump. Does he understand this – who knows.
