The Russian army suffered its greatest losses in October 2024. This month, enemy troops suffered about 1,500 dead and wounded daily.

The losses suffered by the occupiers are disproportionate to the successes they achieve. The Chairman of the Council of Reserves of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ivan Timochko told 24 Kanal about this, noting that for Vladimir Putin's military machine the goal comes first, and resources do not matter.

The Russians' enormous losses are in vain

According to the General Staff's report on November 11, the Russian army's losses amount to 1,700 soldiers killed and wounded, and more than 200 units of equipment destroyed, including 16 units of special equipment. This indicates that our troops have the ability to destroy enemy equipment, even if it is located in the Russian rear.

It seems that Putin is going all in, since he is counting on some kind of peace talks and is trying to seize as much territory as possible with this mass of people. He wants to level the front line as much as possible in his understanding, – said Timochko.

However, the question arises, what if the talks do not take place, or not on the terms as Putin imagines. It turns out that then all these huge losses of the Russian army will be unjustified.

Putin is trying to seize as much territory as possible in order to demonstrate his strength and achieve operational and strategic goals. However, he also has his own challenges. In particular, this is evidenced by the increase of almost a third in expenditures on the Russian army from the budget for next year.

In any case, the situation is extremely difficult and the conditions for conducting combat operations are difficult for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We also have our own challenges, – noted the Chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For Putin, the seizure of Ukraine is one of the stages for the restoration of the Soviet Union. If we stop or push Russian troops out of Ukraine now, it is not a fact that the aggressor country will not transfer these forces and resources, for example, against the Baltic countries, or Poland, or the CSTO countries.

“For Putin, the restoration of the Soviet Union is important. If he does not achieve success in Ukraine, he will try to attack elsewhere. Therefore, it is not a fact that the allies of Ukraine or Russia are interested in stopping the military actions, because there are no guarantees that Putin will be obedient and controllable,” added Timochko.
