Putin is forced to do this: what the dictator's entourage Petro Sineoky is afraid of

Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine has been going on for more than 2.5 years. Putin is already forced to take steps that threaten his entourage.

Russian political strategist Abbas Gallyamov told Channel 24 about this, noting that the situation in Russia is gradually becoming more tense. Putin's entourage lives significantly worse because of the sanctions and at least some isolation of the aggressor country. They especially complain that they cannot go abroad for adequate treatment.

What Putin's entourage fears

According to Gallyamov, the “population” of Russia is increasingly demonstrating discontent because of the conditions that have developed from the full-scale war against Ukraine. Against this background, Putin is forced to transfer more and more power to the security forces. They fight the opposition and ensure the loyalty of the population to the regime.

The more power they have, the greater the risk of being raked in. They both carry out Putin's orders and line their own pockets. First they bankrupt strangers, and then they take on their own. Therefore, the risk of being caught under the steamroller of repression is quite real. This scares even people as close to the regime as the Kovalchuks, – Gallyamov said.

Putin's entourage is currently acting on the principle: if you sit quietly, you'll get away with it. However, Gallyamov believes that if Putin suddenly loosens his “grip”, it is quite possible that Putin's inner circle will begin to take action to return to their previous lives.

The Russian Levada Center recently published a new poll on whether Russians support the war. Thus, 76% of Russians support or “rather support than not” the actions of Russian troops. Which once again destroys the argument of various “oppositionists” that this is all Putin's war alone. At the same time, 54% would like and “rather, would like” to begin peace talks.
