The number one topic of last night in the information space Ukraine was the detention of Viktor Medvedchuk.

Neither more nor less, but the main political partner (and protégé) of Putin in the Ukrainian direction.

And here several topics for reasoning:

  1. Viktor Medvedchuk is a very valuable person, because he has a huge amount of information about the resources of Russia's influence in Ukraine. And, perhaps, about Putin's (initial) plans.
  2. Medvedchuk can talk about internal political agreements, thanks to which, after 2014, he crawled out of the snuffbox into the TOP of Ukrainian politics.
  3. An interesting coincidence – Medvedchuk “moved” (which allowed him to be detained) after rumors (or not quite rumors) about Vladislav Surkov's house arrest. And these are already problems in the Russian direction – Putin is clearly angry.

After all, relying on the effectiveness of the Surkov-Medvedchuk political game did not materialize – Russian troops do not meet with flowers. And a lot of resources have been wasted. There is a reason to ask the question “Where is the money?”

  1. And, finally, Medvedchuk as an exchange fund. Zelensky has already admitted the possibility of an exchange. It will be a challenge for Putin to “throw” the offending godfather. After all, in this case, many of his partners will understand that they are also ready to throw them away as waste material. The question is time. To exchange and cry at a funeral after a “sudden death” is also not good – partners are not quite idiots.

Medvedchuk is scared. They will ask a lot of questions in Ukraine and, possibly, put him in jail for a long time. But the question remains open about the actions of his Ukrainian partners, which he can talk about (and those who are afraid of publicity). In Russia, questions will also be asked. But about something else. And then … he would live to see that. And, a grimace of fate, perhaps the SBU detention center will indeed be the safest place for him.
