Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has allowed the Russian Defense Ministry to resume control of all Russian troops in Ukraine. The Kremlin restricts the activities of the PKK “Wagner”.
Analysts are sure that Putin is trying to concentrate all Russian forces under the leadership of the Ministry of Defense. A number of events testify to this.
In particular, Putin appointed Gerasimov to command a group of Russian troops in Ukraine, subordinating Surovikin to him. Also, the Ministry of Defense integrates the army corps of the occupiers of the so-called pseudo-republics in Donbass into the Russian army. Puppet commanders are eliminated.
They want to limit the Wagner PPK
Thus, the Kremlin is trying to limit the PIK “Wagner” in obtaining ammunition. In addition, they blocked the recruitment of prisoners, relying on their own measures to recruit prisoners.
Gerasimov removed responsibility for Bakhmut from Wagner. Reinforcements of Russian regular troops are already being sent there, and official Russian channels were told without using the name of the company.
Also in Moscow, ideas are being circulated to limit the activities of bloggers at the front.
Why is Putin so hopeful for the Ministry of Defense
The ministry is hastily trying to deal with the fallout from Putin's refusal to force mobilization in May 2022.
Analysts say Putin is preparing Russians for a long and painful war. Now the dictator believes that only the Ministry of Defense can realistically hold the large mechanized forces he needs to achieve his ambitions in Ukraine.
