Vladimir Putin arrived in China on May 16 on an official visit. He has already held a press conference with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, where he signed several agreements and made a speech.
Political scientist, Executive Director of the International Association of Small Communities Alexey Buryachenko told 24 Channelone of the ten agreements that were signed at this meeting, in particular, refers to the planting of Jerusalem artichoke on Russian territory for export to China. He noted that this indicates that the visit of the Kremlin dictator to China was not fundamentally historical, as the Russian side is trying to pretend.
“The only thing that Putin managed to squeeze out of this visit, then this is a picture – it was a success for the propaganda Russian TV channels,” he said.

Buryachenko noted that if we consider Putin’s visit to China in detail, then this meeting was absolutely in the interests of China. Everything that the parties talked about, in his opinion, indicates a devaluation of the national interests of Russia.
He (Putin – Channel 24) once again paid for the picture with trade and economic advantages for China. Russia continued to supply its raw materials to China, and the quota for agriculture was also increased. The Kremlin happily opened markets for mechanical engineering, technological products, and washing machines from China. “Everything is primitive that already existed in Russia,” he emphasized.
The political scientist added that with such agreements Putin predetermines the degradation of technological development in Russia.

During the joint press conference, according to Alexey Buryachenko, it was noticeable to the naked eye how calm and confident Xi Jinping was, but Putin was uncomfortable – it was clear that he was unusual in being at a meeting of such a high level.
It looked very humiliating. In his speech, Putin enthusiastically talked about the fact that a separate program has been launched in Russia to teach Chinese language and culture. He stated that this is a priority for the next two years on cultural interaction with China, the political scientist noted.

China did not say that it would support Russia with weapons, remaining within the limits of its promises to the West.
But at the same time, Beijing will “milk” Putin’s Russia as long as there is a leader there who is ready to surrender all national interests for the sake of a photo, said Alexey Buryachenko.
