Zelensky about negotiations with the President of Russia/OP
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is impossible to negotiate the end of the war with a person living in his own information world.
The head of state said this during the Ukrainian Breakfast as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Channel 24 reports.
Zelensky stressed that Putin is not aware of what is really happening in the world and Ukraine, because he lives in his own information bubble.
Ukraine is not against anyone, but for its land
He (Putin – Channel 24) does not understand that Ukraine is not going anywhere and will not make concessions. We fight on our own land. And this war of Ukraine is not against anyone, but for itself, its own land and on its own land, for its freedom and definitely for its future,” the President emphasized.
He added that Ukraine has nowhere to go from its land, and even more so, it is not going to do this. It is because of the same values and desires that the entire Ukrainian people is so united.
Zelensky said that Vladimir Putin should live in real reality, and his entourage should help him get out of his own information bubble, which Russia created. This fictitious information field has been built over decades.
You can only talk with the President of Russia, there is no point in talking to any of the mediators, they are nobody, not even figures. They are just in the air. There is only one person – the President of Russia, and when he is ready to come out into reality, Zelensky added.
It may be too late for negotiations
He is convinced that when Putin comes out from his own world, he will understand that many are dying, innocent people are dying. And then the President of Russia realizes that it is necessary to speak and end the war, which he himself started.
The head of state said that only in this case can one try to negotiate and talk about the end of the war through the diplomatic path. But Zelensky said that this is possible only if it is not too late.
He explained that whether it will be too late to speak depends on many things and factors, in particular, the desire of the Ukrainian society .
Much depends on ordinary people, because after everyone saw that the Russian military were operating in Ukraine, and I am sure they continue to operate in those occupied territories that we cannot reach due to the blockade. So I think the desire (before the talks – Channel 24) will be lost every day, Zelensky added.
Ukraine will fight until it liberates its territories
The President of Ukraine assured that the speech was not is about the liberation of any specific territories that Russia occupied in 2014 or 2022.
When Ukraine says that it will fight until it regains all its territories, it only means one thing – Ukraine will fight until it returns all its territories. It does not mean anything else, because it is about independence and sovereignty,” the head of state explained.
He added that a diplomatic solution to the war with Russia is possible only if the aggressor country really wants to stop this bloody war against Ukraine. One of the steps to demonstrate that Russia really wants to move to diplomacy is the withdrawal of Russian troops to the positions that were before February 24.
