Putin's goal is to erase the cultural identity of the deported Ukrainians. Therefore, suitable “adaptation centers” will be created in Russia.
The head of the Russian nationality said that the creation of “adaptation centers” is necessary in order to avoid “aggravation of ethnic crime.” This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War in a report dated August 30.
Russia wants to destroy the culture of the deported Ukrainians
Putin is likely creating conditions for the forced cultural assimilation of displaced Ukrainians in Russia in order to erase their Ukrainian cultural identity, the message says.
The head of the Russian nationality, Igor Barinov, discussed the issue with Putin creation of “adaptation centers”. Barinov said that measures are ongoing to check whether “migrants” knew and respected Russian traditions, customs and laws in order to prevent their “social exclusion”
Barinov said that there is a risk of ethnic minorities forming enclaves in Russia which will lead to an aggravation of ethnic crime within the country. According to him, “adaptation centers” will be an effective tool for maintaining the stability of migrant communities.
The American Institute for the Study of War believes that by such measures Putin wants to erase the Ukrainian identity of the deported citizens.
Programs at so-called adaptation centers would likely serve as a form of cultural reprogramming to erase Ukrainian cultural identity from displaced Ukrainians who either fled to Russia or were deported by Russian authorities, writes the Institute.
