As Gudkov emphasized, the arrest of Russian General Ogienko may be a regular struggle between clans or Putin's preparation for a purge among the military, whom he considers dangerous.

I have the impression that Putin is slowly getting closer to the generals. He considers them dangerous and thinks they are capable of certain actions. Therefore, now he is preparing the moral and psychological ground for the purge of the generals,” Gudkov said.

It is obvious that the dictator wants to blame the Russian military command for the failure of the war in Ukraine. However, the generals may be the first to take certain measures in this direction and, according to Gudkov, blame Putin himself.
