Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, by his decree, dismissed Nikolai Patrushev from the post of Secretary of the Russian Security Council “in connection with a transfer to another job”.

Nikolai Patrushev has been in the position of Secretary of the Security Council since May 2008. Before that, he headed the FSB since 1999.

In his place, Sergei Shoigu, who was the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation from November 6, 2012 to May 12, 2024, was appointed to this position.
