In Belarus Ukrainians continue to be arrested. Belarusian security forces detained a Ukrainian citizen for supporting her state in the war with Russia.

It should be noted that the woman has a residence permit in Belarus. There is no official information about what exactly the woman is accused of, reports Channel 24.

Belarusian security forces detained a Ukrainian woman

Security forces of the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lukashenko – GUBOPiK detained a citizen of our state, who has a Belarusian permanent residence permit.

After the arrest of the woman, a so-called “repentance” video was published. The Ukrainian woman was forced to say that she was subscribed to “bad” telegram channels, supported “Ukrainian neo-Nazis,” and also participated in the 2020 protests in Belarus.

It is still unknown what exactly the detainee is charged with and what her status is. However, security forces threaten her with punishment and deportation from the country.

Incidents of detention in Belarus for supporting Ukraine: what is known

  • Among Belarusians there are those who are not afraid to express their support in our state. However, Lukashenko is helping Putin wage a war with Ukraine and is trying to extinguish any manifestations of support for the state from the people.
  • So, in 2022, Lukashenko’s security forces wanted to punish a woman from Minsk. In the video, she put her hands in the shape of a heart and wrote words in support of Ukraine. However, subsequently a video appeared on the Internet where she “repents” and seems to take back her words. Obviously, under pressure from Lukashenko’s security forces, she needed to record this video.
  • In November of the same year, Belarusian security forces repeatedly detained a man who supported Ukraine, right in the middle of the street. In the end, they forced the man to say that he now supports the Russian army and forced him to sing a song about Victory Day.
  • In November 2023, in the Belarusian city of Volkovysk, security forces detained a Ukrainian with citizenship of Belarus. Journalists noted that Lukashenko’s security forces forced the detainee to record a “repentance video” insulting Vladimir Zelensky and admitting that he published Belarusian national symbols on the Internet.
