“Punisher” from the Russian Guard arrived in Luhansk region for searches and checks - General Staff

The Russian Federation brought “punishers” to the temporarily occupied territory of the Lugansk region. They are looking for connections between the local population and Ukrainian security forces.

Speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kovalev announced this on the air of the United News telethon.

According to him, a unit of Russian “punishers” from the Russian Guard and police officers from the Moscow region arrived in the temporarily occupied Melovoe in the Lugansk region.

“They check the documents of the local population, identify former Ukrainian citizens, primarily military personnel, as well as those who have relatives in the Ukrainian security forces,” Kovalev said.

If the invaders, coming to the apartment, did not find the owners at home, they return at night and rob the apartment, the speaker noted.

In addition, in temporarily occupied Tokmak in the Zaporozhye region, Russians are conducting large-scale searches in residential and non-residential buildings. Sources of the General Staff report that the occupiers are looking for places where explosive materials are manufactured or stored.

Kovalev also said that Russian troops, amid heavy losses, continue to seize civilian objects in the Kherson region and set up hospitals there. For example, in the main office of the former grain elevator, the invaders organized a field hospital, where up to 50 wounded military occupiers are currently being treated.

Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russia is using hybrid warfare tactics to create a migration crisis in Europe.
