In Kyiv, law enforcement officers exposed two men who pretended to be military personnel of the Armed Forces and asked citizens for money near a shopping center in the Darnitsky district.

As it turned out, they had nothing to do with the army and were previously convicted, the Kyiv police reported on Telegram.

The footage shows two men: one of them had signs of disability, and the other was dressed in a military uniform without identification marks.

Both were near a shopping center and introduced themselves as former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The men complained about the lack of payments, which, according to them, forced them to ask for help.

Their statements were actively distributed on the Internet, creating the impression among users that the state does not support Ukrainian military.

The pseudo-military turned out to be a 39-year-old resident of Kyiv and a 34-year-old native of Kherson.

The police established that both men have no connection with the Defense Forces of Ukraine and had previously been prosecuted.

The pseudo-military were given contacts of social services

Law enforcement officers held a preventive conversation with the men, during which they explained that the dissemination of false information is unacceptable.

They were also given contacts of social services that can provide the necessary assistance.

The police called on citizens to be critical of such messages on the Internet, and bloggers and journalists should carefully check the information before publishing it.

Recall that earlier in Odessa, a group of people was exposed who, posing as military registration and enlistment office and police officers, were patrolling the streets of the city.

Among them were two local residents and a native of the Donetsk region.
