However, Kraev noted that the scandalous position does not fit into their more general attitude. The fact is that even the odious congresswoman, who said that “we are taking food from children to give Ukrainians weapons,” at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, stated that Putin and his aggressive war had to be stopped.

According to Kraev, there are “political brawlers” in every democracy. That is why one should not think that American or British democracies are immune from this.
“This is normal. We must understand this and be aware that this is not a statement of the whole congress. Indeed, there are people who build on this its political image. This is normal,” the analyst concluded.
Approval of the financial aid law: what else is known
- Financial assistance to Ukraine approved with a week delay. The fact is that the project was blocked by Senator Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky.
- He demanded that the law provide for the creation of a special inspector general who would control military aid spending. The politician wanted the amendment to be introduced into the main document of the bill. No one objected, but it would have taken a long time.
- It's interesting that this Rand Paul has been involved in scandals before. In particular, he had ties with Russia and blocked the adoption of US sanctions against the construction of Nord Stream 2.
- However, the law was passed. The main amount of financial support will be directed to weapons for Ukraine. Also, a significant part of the funds will be directed to support the Ukrainian economy.
