The second round of the presidential elections was held in Moldova on Sunday, November 3. The current president of the country, Maia Sandu, declared her victory.

However, the pro-Russian candidate, Alexander Stoianoglo, is winning in terms of the number of votes within Moldova. This was reported by 24 Kanal with reference to the Moldovan Central Election Commission.

How Moldovan citizens voted in the elections

98.87% of the votes have been processed so far. According to the Central Election Commission, Maia Sandu is the overall winner, with 55.03% of the votes cast for her. Meanwhile, Stoianoglo has 44.97%.

In general, voter turnout reached a record high of over 1.6 million people.

According to the Central Election Commission, Stoianoglo won within Moldova with 51.19% of the votes. The vote counting has already been completed there.

Maia Sandu wins among voters in Chisinau and diasporas.

57.38% voted for her in the capital. They have also finished counting the votes there.

Meanwhile, the diaspora gave the current president of Moldova as much as 82.31% of the votes. There, more than 251 thousand people voted for her.

Despite the fact that 100% of the ballots have not yet been processed, Maia Sandu has already declared her victory.
