Pro-Russian forces in Croatia may win in the first round Irina Chebotnikova

Pro-Russian forces win elections in Croatia. We are talking about the current president of the country, Zoran Milanovic.

24 Kanal writes about this with reference to Vecernji List. The first exit polls have already appeared.

Exit poll data for the Croatian elections

The first results show that Zoran Milanovic is gaining 50.73% in the first round. He is running against former science minister Dragan Primorac. But he is only gaining 19.04% so far.

Candidates Marija Selak Raspudic and Ivanna Kekin are gaining about 8% each. The other four candidates received less than 4%.

It is interesting that it was previously said that the favorite of the elections is obvious – Milanovic. But he and his main opponent, Primorac, may not receive an absolute majority in the first round. So a second round will have to be held on January 12.

Pro-Russian statements of the President of Croatia

In October, Milanovic said that “the end of the war is not in sight, but there is a threat of the war spreading beyond Ukraine.” Therefore, Croatia will not send its peacekeepers to Ukraine as part of a possible NATO mission, so as not to harm national interests. But it will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Kyiv.

But Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic was outraged by these words. In his opinion, Croatia is thus becoming similar to Serbia and Hungary, which publicly support Russia. Budapest summoned the Croatian ambassador for an explanation.
