Rallies in support of Palestine are being held in many countries around the world. These people are often influenced by propaganda.

Political scientist, head of the Center for Analysis and Strategies Igor Chalenko told Channel 24 about this, noting that such rallies, of course, can influence the decisions of governments of different countries.

It is also often a trivial migrant issue. In France, for example, according to various sources, about 10% of the inhabitants are Muslims. They form the core of such protests. Similar situations exist in other states.

I liked the survey of an Israeli friend who lives in London. He went to rallies and asked protesters why they supported Palestine and why they condemned Israel. Everyone says the same thing. The work of propaganda is visible. They say they can condemn what happened on October 7th. But after this comes a “but” – and it begins that Israel is an occupier. And what happened on October 7 fades into the background,” Chalenko said.

On topic – what is happening in Israel now

We live in a post-truth world

As Chalenko emphasized, now the information world is not the only one. Everyone has their own truth. If earlier they tried to balance and stabilize everything through the UN system, today this does not work very well. Often this organization opposes actions aimed at destroying the source of terror.

The war in Ukraine and the war in Israel demonstrate the general problem of modernizing the world order. The world needs to find a middle ground again to make things right.

Now we see a policy of regionalization that goes against globalization. This is not just a post-truth world. This is the destruction of common markets and communications. Very unpleasant times. We must somehow survive this moment and move on to a new stage in the development of the planet,” Chalenko said.

War in Israel: briefly

  • On October 7, Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israel, firing several thousand rockets from the Gaza Strip and seizing hostages. A few weeks later, the IDF launched a full-scale operation in Gaza.
  • The West supports Israel, but there is some disagreement about what the future will hold for Gaza. It is interesting that there are rallies in support of Palestine around the world. They demand that Israel cease fire. For example, on November 11, a large rally was held in London.
  • On November 8, representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate evacuated the first group of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip. Then 43 citizens of Ukraine left.
