Last week, Ukraine and Russia exchanged four prisoners of war, the most recent of which took place on June 14.
Under the Istanbul agreements, Ukrainian defenders under the age of 25, as well as those with serious injuries and serious illnesses, are being returned home. Many of them have been in captivity since 2022.
It is not yet known exactly how many soldiers were returned. The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners reported that they will announce the figures after all stages of the exchange are completed.
After the latest exchange, Volodymyr Zelensky announced the continuation of this process. In his address on June 14, he emphasized that the state continues to fight for every Ukrainian defender and hopes that Russia will comply with humanitarian obligations.
