Prigozhin will be killed sooner or later – Piontkovsky on the conflict between the Russian Defense Ministry and Wagner PMC

by alex

In Russia, serious confrontations continue between the General Staff and the owner of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin. This significantly reduces the combat effectiveness of the Russian armed forces.

Andrey Piontkovsky, a Russian publicist and opposition politician from the United States, spoke about this on Channel 24 . According to him, Prigozhin will be killed sooner or later.

Conflicts reduce the combat capability of Russians

Piontkovsky noted that the conflict between the Russian General Staff and PMC “Wagner” significantly reduces the combat capability of the invaders.

The publicist is convinced that sooner or later Prigozhin will be killed because he “swung” on Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

This is a huge military company. Shoigu and Gerasimov have led the Russian armed forces for the past 12 years. This means that the entire elite, several hundred generals, were appointed by them according to one principle: personal loyalty, the oppositionist emphasized.

Andrey Piontkovsky also believes that the removal from the post of the commander of the united group of troops in Ukraine, Sergei Surovikin, who was a protege of Yevgeny Prigozhin, and the appointment of Valery Gerasimov is a “mini-military coup.”

“On the night of January 10-11, a mini-military coup took place in Putin’s bunker. Shoigu and Gerasimov forced him to remove Prigozhin’s henchman from his post.

The oppositionist noted that the Russian dictator did not have enough determination to choose any one side, so he has not yet dealt with Prigozhin.

The conflict between Prigozhin and the Russian General Staff: latest news

  • Before the start of the full-scale invasion, PMC “Wagner” was an “elite” battalion, but now it is almost entirely made up of convicts. And the battle for Bakhmut, in the opinion of Western analysts, has every chance to take away from Russia these “capacities” in the face of the Wagnerites in the near future.
  • The founder of the Russian private company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, once again publicly entered into a conflict with the Russian Defense Ministry over the cessation of the supply of ammunition to his mercenaries. He accused the command of covering up the supply of shells to the Wagnerians, and because of this, his fighters would suffer huge losses.
  • Domestic political conflicts are escalating in Russia. In particular, the head of PMC “Wagner” Prigozhin is already gathering people for a rally against the governor of St. Petersburg. He calls on the Russians to protest on March 8 and “overthrow” the governor.
