The Russian missile ship Samum, which was shot down by the Ukrainian SeaBaby drone near Sevastopol Bay, is considered the “pride” Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
This small missile hovercraft of Project 1239 is part of the 41st brigade of missile boats of the Crimean naval base.
The Samum began to be constructed in September 1991 at Zelenodolsk shipyard. In October of the following year, it was launched.

In February 2000, the ship was put into service. Subsequently, the occupiers called the Samum MRK “the best ship” second rank of the Black Sea Fleet.

Recall that on September 14, an experimental surface drone of the SBU SeaBaby (Marine baby) hit the Russian missile ship Samum near Sevastopol Bay.
According to a source in the Security Service of Ukraine, the drone hit the rear right side of the enemy ship, causing significant damage, the ship lost speed.
