It has become known that presidential elections will be held in Belarus on January 26, 2025. Self-proclaimed dictator Alexander Lukashenko will participate in this “action”.

Political scientist Igor Reiterovich told 24 Channel about this, noting that the “event” planned in Belarus will hardly be called a presidential election. Lukashenko will continue to stay in power, because there is no one left in the country to protest.

Are protests possible in Belarus

According to Igor Reiterovich, Belarusians will not dare to protest against Alexander Lukashenko.

There (in Belarus – Channel 24) is not even a minimal media personality who could challenge him. This is not a story about elections, but about extending Lukashenko's term in power, the political scientist said.

He stressed that the Belarusian dictator will continue to be the self-proclaimed president. Of course, in the civilized world, no leader will recognize this. However, this is an expected course of events, because Lukashenko has nowhere to go, so he will cling to his power by any means.

Recall that back in early 2024, the self-proclaimed president announced that he planned to run in the “elections” in 2025. He cynically emphasized that Belarus allegedly holds the most open and honest elections in the world, despite international accusations to the contrary. Lukashenko also added that it would be difficult to overthrow his power even by radical means.
