According to preliminary data, on the morning of September 8, Russian troops could strike Krivoy Rog with an Iskander-K missile.
This was stated by the speaker of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuri Ignat, on the air of the United News telethon.
He explained that the aggressor usually attacks front-line territories, which include Krivoy Rog, from short distances. That is why the air raid signal is not always sounded on time.

“Preliminary results – it could be an Iskander-K in Krivoy Rog,” noted Ignat.
As for the shelling of the northern and eastern regions of Ukraine, the enemy could use rocket artillery – multiple launch rocket systems.
However, the final type of weapons and missiles must be determined by specialists.
– Experts can finally say working at the site where debris, fragments of missiles will be found: engine, other elements by which the type of ammunition can be identified, Ignat said.
He clarified that the enemy can use both ballistic weapons and S-300, MLRS or Iskander cruise missiles marked K, which can be launched from relatively short distances, for attacks on front-line territories.
Iskander -Kis a variant of cruise missiles for the Iskander class surface-to-surface operational-tactical missile systems. The firing range can reach 500 km, and the mass of the missile warhead is 480 kg. The flight altitude of the Iskander-K is about 7 m when reaching the target. The missile is capable of automatically following the terrain.
Consequences of the strike on Krivoy Rog
According to the latest data, as a result of the morning During the shelling of Krivoy Rog, 73 people were injured and wounded, 35 of them in hospital. Doctors assess the condition of the three men as serious.
As a result of the strike, administrative buildings were damaged, one of which belongs to the police. A policeman died. Rescuers rescued three more law enforcement officers from under the rubble.
In total, 62 apartment buildings and 7 private houses, as well as more than fifty cars, were damaged in Krivoy Rog.
