On May 20, the Russian military once again cynically shelled Kharkov. As a result, a large-scale fire broke out at the local market “Barabashovo”, so some trade pavilions burned to the ground.
About a thousand square meters burned down due to the hit of a Russian projectile on the territory of the market, Channel 24 reports. Rescuers managed to extinguish the fire a few hours later.

As a result of the fire, one of the separate trading floors was actually destroyed . Currently, the total number of objects that cannot be restored due to Russian shelling, as well as the total amount of damage, is still being determined.
However, despite the difficult situation, entrepreneurs in the market continue to work, because even in the conditions of war they need to earn a living. surviving to transport it to other outlets and continue to work. – correspondent Anna Chernenko noted.

The owner of one of the kiosks that was destroyed by the invaders said that she plans to continue working in the market even after the shelling.
It is not known what will happen next, whether it (the new place on the market – 24 channels) will be intact. We want to start working, because we need to improve the economy of Ukraine,” said businesswoman Svetlana.
The fire happened not for the first time
Speaker of the Barabashovo shopping center Sergey Zaitsev recalled that the Russians had already shelled this territory with Grads in March. Then the fire spread over the entire area of the largest market in Eastern Europe.
“This is not the first fire as a result of enemy shelling on the Barabashovo territory. Fortunately, this is not the largest shelling, not the largest fire. On May 20, there was shelling, which resulted in 2 fires,” Sergey Zaitsev noted.
