Member of the Ukrainian delegation Mykhailo Podolyak stressed that Ukraine will do everything in negotiations with Russia to end the war, but always taking into account its own interests.
In addition, Ukraine will try to obtain reliable guarantees to prevent such wars in the future. This was stated by adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podolyak in an interview with one of the TV channels.
According to him, the position of Ukraine is clearly stated in the Istanbul communiqué. It is immutable.
We want a formulaic solution: both the possibility of ending the war and the prevention of similar wars in the future. Because this situation has shown that Ukraine is left alone with the expansionist empire, which invests a lot of money in military technology. Podolyak stressed.
He believes that if this situation remains more or less the way it is now, then in a year or two Russia will again climb into someone else's territory.

Mykhailo Podolyak says that even when the aggressor continues to attack Ukrainian cities, it is necessary to negotiate.
“After all, our state must attract all the tools to end the war on its own terms and with the least losses on its own terms and with least losses among the civilian population,” he said.
At the same time, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office assured that issues related to territorial integrity and sovereignty remain unshakable for Ukraine.
The goal of Ukraine is not a bilateral peace treaty with Russia, which will not comply with it, but multilateral security guarantees that exclude the repetition of such a war against our state, Podolyak said.
A member of the Ukrainian delegation added that they want to have a specific formula that Ukraine is sitting at the negotiating table, the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, is sitting next to it, and next to it are countries guaranteeing Russia's non-aggression obligations to Ukraine.
Podolyak added that Russia is now concentrating on the eastern direction – Kharkov, Donetsk, Luhansk, in order to prove to the world that it still knows how to fight. However, the Ukrainian army is ready to give battle to the invaders.
Negotiations will depend on success at the front
According to him, after the advantages on the battlefield, our positions in the negotiation team will be significantly strengthened and, of course, we will get what Ukraine needs.

Therefore, in the coming weeks, we should wait to see how the situation in eastern Ukraine will unfold.
By the way, Russia is suffering crazy losses because of the invasion of Ukraine. Mikhail Podolyak noted that the Russian Federation does not perceive the world very adequately and does not understand what is happening now. Zelensky wants to get agreements and, at the same time, not lose people.
