The fifth president of Ukraine and people's deputy Petro Poroshenko was unable to cross the state border. The Verkhovna Rada and the State Border Service of Ukraine noted that the decision on the people's deputy's business trip abroad was cancelled.
State Border Guard Service speaker Andriy Demchenko said that Poroshenko was not allowed to cross the state border because the border guards had confirmation that his business trip was cancelled.

The department noted that border guards ensure registration and passage of persons across the border exclusively in accordance with the law, in particular the rules for crossing the border by citizens of Ukraine.
— As you know, during martial law, people’s deputies of Ukraine have the right to cross the state border to travel on the basis of relevant decisions on official business trips. Regarding the people's deputy (Poroshenko – Ed. ), the border guards have confirmation that his business trip abroad has been cancelled. That is why he was not allowed to cross the state border of Ukraine,” Demchenko said.
For his part, on the air of the United News telethon, First Deputy Speaker Alexander Kornienko explained why he signed the order to cancel Poroshenko’s trip abroad.
— He (Poroshenko, — Ed. ) pointed out that the main reason was participation in a non-parliamentary event, a party forum of the International Democratic Union, a community that probably includes European Solidarity. He wrote that in parallel with this there will be some other high-level meetings. According to our internal principles, participation in party events is allowed, but when we received a letter from the DSP (for official use – Ed. ), which I cannot comment on, we were forced to cancel this business trip,” Kornienko said.
Earlier, Petro Poroshenko reported that Ukrainian border guards did not allow him to go on an agreed business trip abroad. According to him, he was supposed to go to the USA and Poland.
