Pope Francis has called on the faithful to pray for an end to hostilities on every front to mark World Peace Day, which is celebrated annually on January 1.
Vatican News reports that the Pope made the announcement in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
Pope's Call for an End to Hostilities
— Let us pray that hostilities will cease on every front and that peace and reconciliation will be resolutely pursued. I am thinking of martyred Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, Myanmar, Kiva and the many nations at war, — he emphasized.
At the same time, the Pope thanked all the prayer and social initiatives in support of peace that were organized by various dioceses and associations.
