Polish strikers do not allow humanitarian aid to enter Ukraine – Derkach

At checkpoints, Polish carriers, who have been blocking the border for two weeks now, do not allow trucks with humanitarian aid to enter Ukraine.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Sergei Derkach.

“It is obvious that statements about the passage of humanitarian aid and dangerous goods are not true. We have recorded numerous cases of fuel tanks and humanitarian aid standing in queues. We are passing on information about these cases to our Polish colleagues. We are waiting for an answer on how this correlates with statements about the unhindered crossing of such cargo,” he emphasized.

As of the evening of November 19, according to Derkach, 1,200 trucks were blocked at the Krakovets-Korchova checkpoint, the same number at Yagodin-Dorogusk and 500 at Rava-Russkaya-Grebennoye.

The border blockade by Polish carriers has continued since November 6. The strikers restricted the passage of freight transport through three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine – Yagodin – Dorogusk, Krakovets – Korchova and Rava-Russkaya – Grebennoye. This does not apply to buses, cars and pedestrians.

Polish carriers are demanding the return of the system for issuing permits to operate in the EU to their Ukrainian colleagues, but this is legally impossible.
