Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has once again publicly called on Ukraine to allow the search and exhumation of Poles in Volyn as soon as possible. We are talking about those citizens who were killed during ethnic cleansing in Volyn during World War II.

Radoslaw Sikorski, in the caption to a post on the social network X, noted that Dmytro Kuleba made a mistake by hinting at his statements in the Polish city of Olsztyn. Then, in response to a question about the exhumation, the minister recalled the “Vistula” action.

The scandal surrounding Kuleba's words in Poland does not subside

Our compatriots deserve to be buried. Ukraine must understand the dark pages of its history. However, from his (Dmytro Kuleba – 24 Kanal) answer, it can be understood that during our bilateral conversations I already raised the issue of the need to restore the exhumation, – said Sikorski.

He recalled that Poland will have a say in the decision on Ukraine's closing of the negotiating chapters on the way to the EU.

“Therefore, it is better for Ukraine to resolve this issue as quickly as possible in the spirit of gratitude to Poland for what we are doing for Ukraine today,” the minister added.

It should be noted that this is the first official comment by the head of the Polish MFA after Dmytro Kuleba's statement. It outraged Polish society and led to a wave of hate from his fellow citizens pouring out on Sikorski because he did not object to his Ukrainian colleague.

It is worth noting that during the meeting Kuleba and Sikorski discussed the issue of exhumation. It was noted there that Ukraine is not against granting permission, but asks the Polish authorities to take similar steps in relation to the deceased Ukrainians.
