Polish farmers restricted the possibility of truck movement in the direction of the Polish checkpoint “Medika” – on the Ukrainian side this is the checkpoint “Shehyni”. The blocking of the border began at about 10:00 on November 23. It was reported that it could last 48 hours.

On the evening of November 24, it became known that the strikers had completed blocking the checkpoint.

According to information from the Polish side, the blocking of the movement of trucks carried out by Polish farmers in front of the Medika checkpoint has ended. At present, the protesters have stopped the protest, the border guards reported.

The State Border Service added that the passage of all categories of vehicles in this direction is carried out as usual

Recall that the Polish farmers voiced two reasons for the protest at the border. The first is the failure to meet the requirement to maintain the agricultural tax rate in 2024 at the 2023 level. The second reason was “concerns about the European Union signing a free trade agreement with the South American countries of MERCOSUR (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay).
