The Polish government will allocate 10 billion zlotys ($2.55 billion) to strengthen the border zone with Russia and Belarus.
This project has already been called the Eastern Shield and Warsaw is actively implementing it.

Eastern Shield Project
The Eastern Shield project involves the construction of new fortifications, fences, changes to the terrain and special forest plantations along the 400-kilometer land border.
It was planned and announced against the background of another wave of attempts to cross the border by illegal migrants from Belarus.
Thus, for the entire 2020, 81 attempts were recorded to illegally cross the border of Lithuania by migrants from Belarus, and from January to May 2021, 189 migrants were detained. Then the numbers continued to grow.
