Heavy rains have hit Poland and several European countries, leaving hundreds of towns and villages underwater. As a result, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has ordered a state of natural disaster to be declared in the country.

The flooding is known to have destroyed bridges and dams in several towns, and there is no electricity or communications. In the affected regions, forced evacuations are also being carried out, and education in schools and kindergartens has been suspended.

Ukraine is ready to help eliminate the consequences of the flood

In Poland, a state of natural disaster can be introduced in a certain part or throughout the country – where it occurred or where its consequences may arise.

After consultations with the relevant ministers and services, I ordered the preparation of a resolution of the Council of Ministers on the introduction of a state of natural disaster, – Donald Tusk announced.

He also said that Ukraine can help Poland with the elimination of the consequences elements.

“Recently, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal sent me words of solidarity with Poland and his readiness to immediately send a hundred rescuers equipped with special equipment to combat the flood. Very touching,” Donald Tusk wrote on the social network X.

President Zelensky said in his evening address that Ukraine is ready to help a total of 6 affected countries.

“On my instructions, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga offered the assistance of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service rescuers to the relevant countries in our part of Europe,” he said.

Subsequently, the head of the MFA clarified that Ukraine also offered its assistance to Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
