The Polish Ministry of Defense announced the need to prepare for a war with Russia in the next few years. Yes, the country provides assistance to our state and monitors the situation.
However, the fact that Poland is preparing for a possible war with Russia does not mean that the country directs all efforts to purchase weapons to itself. About this Channel 24 told the head of the Center for Military Legal Research Alexander Musienko.
Will Poland's preparations for a war with Russia affect Ukraine
Ukraine and Poland have a fairly developed cooperation, in particular, in the field of artillery. Also, our ally handed over a large number of tanks, small arms.
“This cooperation does not stop. As of today, there is a prospect to discuss with Poland the idea of joint production of weapons and the launch of a military industry, including for Ukraine,” Musienko said.
Today, the build-up of Poland's defense capabilities and capacities will not interfere with assistance to Ukraine,” explained the head of the Center for Military Legal Research.
What to expect from the new Ramstein meeting
Musienko noted that each preliminary meeting in this format ended for Ukraine with the announcement of the next aid package. Thus, they contained new weapons for our country, including anti-ship missiles, HIMARS systems, 155-mm artillery.
. The second important issue is the volume and expansion of the range of this support, that is, the types of weapons, – said the head of the Center for Military Legal Research.
According to him, now there are two fundamental points– building up support for long-range artillery and systematic work to provide ammunition, shells and missiles for these weapons. Musienko noted that the main goal of the meetings in the Ramstein format is to ensure the fastest possible delivery of weapons that our state needs.
