Recently it became known that the negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia stopped. However, they can still be restored. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, named the reasons under which the negotiation process with the aggressor country can be unblocked. Channel 24 broadcasts.

Russians constantly say that they can continue negotiations with Ukraine. According to Podolyak, this means that they want to talk because they launched an information campaign about “freezing the conflict.”

He noted that against this background, the Russians will certainly be in a winning position, because they are on our territory.

But we want them to perceived the situation correctly. After all, they will fight until they lose the maximum number of their people,” Podolyak said.

Mikhail Podolyak replied that this could happen for two reasons:

  • when the President of Ukraine says that it is not clear on the road map what positions we can hold,
  • when the political elite of Russia begins to adequately perceive everything and see the reality.

After all, this is the first time such a phenomenon has occurred in the world – when propaganda acts not on society, but on the political elite. They have led themselves into a “pit” from which they cannot get out. The Russians believe that “they have everything according to plan,” but this is not so. They will probably sit down at the negotiating table already when Russia has panic attacks,” the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office added.

What is known about the suspension of negotiations with Russia: in short

  • Mikhail Podolyak announced on May 17 that the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia on ending the war were suspended. /li>

  • The Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that there is no point in resuming negotiations. Adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Viktor Andrusiv, said that negotiations would not continue until either the Russians reached the border, or simply showed that they were really ready to take such a step.
  • Deputy head of the OP Igor Zhovkva also noted that Putin is not ready to negotiate an end to the war.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the main condition for returning to negotiations with Russia. According to him, when Ukraine returns all the territories occupied by the Russians after February 24, the negotiation process will resume.
  • At the same time, the residence of the Pope expressed its readiness to facilitate negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. They noted that this requires an invitation from both parties.
