“They're playing the wrong roles”: There's one way Trump can force Putin to sit down at the negotiating table Melania Golembyovskaya

In recent months, there has been much discussion of Donald Trump's plans to end the war. However, his proposals put him “in a weaker role” than Vladimir Putin.

Political scientist Valery Dymov expressed this opinion to Channel 24, noting that the future president, on the contrary, should pressure the Russian dictator to take further action on the part of Ukraine. In addition, it will be much more beneficial for Ukraine's allies to support a country that is advancing rather than suffering.

How Trump Can Force Putin to Negotiate

According to the political scientist, it is difficult to stop a country that is suffering from aggression, but it is even more difficult to stop the aggressor. This is not only about Russia itself, but also about its allies, because it is always easier to attack this way.

The phrase “victory has many parents, but defeat is always an orphan” does not always speak about the end date, but also about the process (negotiations – 24 Channel). Roughly speaking, no country wants to be the “father of defeat,” Dymov noted.

The political scientist suggested that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni tried to convince Donald Trump at a meeting that the world is providing Ukraine with a large amount of aid, so our country is capable of counterattacking. This option will also be beneficial for partners who support the country that is advancing.

Meanwhile, Trump announced many plans to end the war, which Vladimir Putin is now “waiting for.” The Russian dictator is acting dismissively, waiting for an offer from the future US president.

This is reminiscent of a criminal showdown. It's as if Putin is saying, “I'm listening to you, what are you proposing?” It should be the other way around – Putin should be squeezed into conditions when Trump dictates them, and not offer Ukraine to make concessions, Dymov emphasized.

The political scientist added that Trump's plan should have conditions that are beneficial to Ukraine. Then our country and allies will be able to “expel” the Russians from Ukrainian territories.

Interesting! Former Trump adviser Kurt Volker expressed the opinion that security guarantees for Ukraine should not be a subject of discussions with Putin.

By the way, opposition CDU politician Roderich Kiesewetter said that Trump and Putin could meet in March. He expressed concern that this meeting could end with agreements that would mean subordination to Russia.
