28-year-old pilot Oleksandr Kukurba died/Channel 24 collage
During the defense of the Ukrainian sky, the Ukrainian military pilot Oleksandr Kukurba died. The 28-year-old major passed away on July 26.

A terrible loss was reported in the homeland of the fallen Hero of Ukraine – in the Nizhneverbiysk territorial community of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. They noted that Oleksandr Kukurba was the head of intelligence at the headquarters of the 299th tactical aviation brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the major was awarded a number of high state awards. Oleksandr Kukurba received the Gold Star and the title of Hero of Ukraine in April 2022 – for personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty.
Major received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky in early July
In early July, the pilot received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky, II degree, and before that, back in March 2022, the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky, III degree. They promised to announce the time and place of farewell to the Hero of Ukraine later.
