Photo in a bra and shorts on Jewish graves: in two countries they demand to condemn the model

One cannot but agree that some cemeteries look so stunning that they want to be photographed. However, such impulses can lead to public outrage, as happened with the Polish artist and photographer Agnieszka Przekop, who lives and works in Germany.

Photos posted on facebook

The artist, model and photographer decided that the ancient Jewish cemetery in Częstochowa in southwestern Poland would be the perfect backdrop for her photo shoot. And not ordinary, but half-naked.

The girl arranged a provocative photo shoot in a black bikini and peignoir, and one of the locations she chose the grave of a wealthy businessman Michael Wolf in Serglik. However, that didn't seem enough, so she decided to share her art on her Facebook page.

Society outrage

Of course, such photographs among the graves of the ancient cemetery instantly provoked public outrage and a scandal in Poland and Israel. Thus, the researcher and employee of the Polish Museum in Warsaw, Krzysztof Bejlewski, initiated a protest against photography on the social network.

He shamed the girl and turned to her conscience with the question of whether she would arrange such a photo session on the graves of her ancestors. This message found a response among users of the social network, but even dozens of angry reactions did not force Agnieszka to delete explicit photos.

And Meir Bolka, an activist and worker at the J-negations Foundation, which works to preserve Jewish heritage in Poland, went beyond Facebook posts. He filed a complaint with the local police, in which he accused the model of portraying religious feelings, according to the Polish constitution. According to Bolka, such a photo shoot is nothing but a manifestation of anti-Semitism, combined with stupidity and ignorance.

We and the authorities have no right to tolerate such provocations. They should be judged. Just as they would do with a person if he arranged something like a Christian cemetery. Someone decided that dead Jews have no rights, but the authorities should not let this go on the brakes for the sake of justice, and to give a lesson to the younger generation, he stressed.

The very appeal to law enforcement agencies forced Agnieszka Przekop to remove his work from the Facebook page. However, the scandal has already arisen, and activists demand that the girl be brought to justice.

What is known about the cemetery

Jews were buried in the Częstochowa cemetery as early as the 18th century. Before the Holocaust during World War II, more than 30,000 Jews lived in the city, only 5,000 of whom survived.
