As the political scientist noted, it is unlikely that Peskov knows for sure about the adoption of permission to attack with Western weapons deep into Russia, but it often happens that a political decision is made, but it is made public when there is an informational and political reason for this.

Important! The other day, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Biden “does not rule out” the possibility of granting permission for strikes with Western weapons deep into the aggressor country.

For example, a visit by President Volodymyr Zelensky to the US, or if there is a decision on British missiles. After all, the US previously prohibited this, but now they can first grant permission for strikes with British missiles. The meeting between the US President and the British Prime Minister could be an occasion.

In fact, the current situation is such that, most likely, the decision to grant Ukraine permission to strike Russian territory with Western long-range weapons is a response to the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Moscow, Fesenko said.

By the way, Iran transferred about 200 Fateh-360 ballistic missiles to Russia. The White House called this a “dramatic escalation” in Tehran's support for Russia's war against Ukraine.

In the spring of 2022, when Russia launched a powerful offensive in the Luhansk region, the partners transferred Western-caliber artillery and shells to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the fall of 2022, the occupiers began to destroy our energy sector, so the West began to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
