In Ukraine, suspicion was reported to a people's deputy who demanded a bribe in order not to interfere with the repair work of infrastructure facilities in the Sumy region.
What is Nikolai Zadorozhny suspected of?
According to NABU and SAP, in March, People's Deputy of Ukraine Nikolai Zadorozhny announced a request to provide an undue benefit to the head of the village council in the Sumy region and organize its receipt, so as not to interfere with the tender for the repair of a water pipeline in the Akhtyrsky district.
As investigators learned, “rollback” The people's deputy was 10% of the total amount of the concluded contract, and another 4% was intended for local law enforcement officers, who for this should not have interfered with the development of the allocated funds.

People's Deputy Nikolai Zadorozhny was informed of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 4 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official), Part 3 of Art. 27 (Types of accomplices) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing, and other possible participants in the scheme are being identified. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for a people's deputy is being decided.
Suspicion of Nikolai Zadorozhny — What did the faction say
Speaker of the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada Yulia Paliychuk noted that she is in favor of a full and objective investigation of the incident, which, according to NABU information, may involve MP Nikolai Zadorozhny.
Yulia Paliychuk argues that if the guilt of the people’s deputy of Ukraine is proven, then he should be held accountable in accordance with the law.
At the same time, Nikolai Zadorozhny’s membership in the faction will be suspended during the investigation. He was also expelled from the parliamentary VSK, in which he works.
According to the speaker, the faction condemns any manifestations of corruption, and everyone who resorts to such actions must be held accountable, regardless of status and position.
