Due to violations of US procurement laws, the Pentagon is no longer accepting F-35 fighter jets. The fact is that laws prohibit the use of unlicensed materials from China.

According to Pentagon spokesman Russell Goumare, it turned out that the alloy of the engine's lubrication pump did not meet the requirements of US laws. The investigation into this matter gained momentum in mid-August.

Details of the incident

As it turned out, the magnet used in the engine in the F-35 fighter jets was manufactured from unlicensed Chinese raw materials.

The problem is related to the magnet on the F-35 Turbomachine manufactured by Honeywell, which contains an alloy of cobalt and samarium, Lockheed Martin, which makes jet aircraft, said.< /p>

According to Gumare, this magnet did not transmit information and could not harm the fighter, so the situation did not lead to risks.

Lockheed Martin did not deny the results of the investigation. Contractor Honeywell International Inc, which builds the pump, said it would seek alternative sources for the material. As stated in the company, they “remain committed to supplying high quality products that meet or exceed all requirements of the contract with the client.”

What is the situation with aviation in Russia at this time

  • As the Russian authorities boast, they are not afraid of sanctions, but because of them, in the aggressor country, in early August, they began to dismantle their planes. All in order to compensate for the shortage of spare parts that the Kremlin cannot buy from Western countries.
  • From 4 sources in the industry, it became known that even the state-owned Aeroflot is dismantling aircraft. The Kremlin itself recommended doing this, arguing that other foreign-made aircraft should continue to fly at least until 2025.
  • At the end of August, it became known that helicopters were already being dismantled for parts for import substitution. So, according to Russian media, the enemies lack important spare parts – at least engines, starting generators.
