Singh indicated that Pentagon officials do not believe that Oreshnik is capable of changing the situation on the battlefield, but in general the Russian army is using all the weapons in its arsenal to instill fear in Ukraine.
At the same time, the American official did not indicate where exactly in Ukraine Moscow will send its new ballistic missile.
Earlier, several Western news agencies reported that the Kremlin was allegedly preparing a response due to the Defense Forces' strike on a military base in Taganrog in the south of the Rostov region six ATACMS missiles.
The missile threat should not be ignored
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, noted that the missile threat should definitely not be ignored, commenting on the issue of the warning from US intelligence on the air of the Ediny Novyny telethon.
— It should definitely not be ignored… Of course, we see them and of course, there are signs that may indicate the nature of the attack. If the ships go to sea on their own, then most likely there will be no launches or they will be insignificant. If strategic aviation takes to the air at the same time, then most likely the first, second and third ones will be used, — he said.
He added that the alarm should be responded to, but definitely not panicked.
In his evening address on December 11, President Volodymyr Zelensky also called for not ignoring the air raid alarm signal in the event of missile threats and knowing where the nearest shelters are.
