— We see Russian units attempting to counterattack in the Kursk area. At this stage, I would say it's insignificant. But we are monitoring it, – said Patrick Ryder.

The Pentagon representative noted that the United States is focused on ensuring that Ukraine has the ability to defend its sovereignty and deter further Russian aggression. The Ukrainians must have sufficient air defense capabilities to protect critical infrastructure, and enough weapons on the front lines: armor, artillery, ammunition, to deter Russian operations like the one at Pokrovsk, or in the Kursk region.
Patrick Ryder notes that the US focus should be on ensuring a Ukrainian victory so that they have an advantage when and if they decide to sit down at the negotiating table.

Kursk Oblast borders Sumy Oblast. On August 6, the first unofficial reports appeared about Ukrainian units entering Kursk Oblast.
Ukraine only officially acknowledged its activity in Kursk Oblast and the presence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory on August 12.
What is known about the Russian offensive in the Kursk region
As reported by the American Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops began an offensive in the Kursk region from several flanks, allegedly breaking through our defenses and entering the rear of the Ukrainian units in area of the village of Snagost.
Deep State analysts also claim that the Russians will launch an attack in the direction of Snagost from the village of Korenevo.
