The rules for calculating pensions will change. Now the salary after February 24 will not be taken into account when calculating social benefits.
The Verkhovna Rada has amended the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”. The president has already signed them.
How to calculate the amount of payments
According to the current the formula for calculating the pension (the ratio of one's own salary to the average multiplied by the length of service in years, 1% and the average salary in the country for three years), the lower one's own salary, the lower the pension, the message says.
According to the new rules, the salary will not be taken into account when calculating the pension, but the length of service received will be taken into account. This is beneficial for those who lost their jobs during the war or their salaries have decreased.
During martial law, military personnel receive increased salaries. Therefore, accounting for income will allow them to receive a higher pension in the future.
